“Enjoy Him Forever”
3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. John 17:3 (NKJV)
When Jesus, while praying to God the Father, calls knowledge of God “eternal life” I believe He is not only talking about life that is eternal in duration, but also eternal in quality, in pleasures!
David in His prayer / Psalm prays to God—11 You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:11 (NKJV)
Though I would not compare myself to David, and much less to my Lord Jesus Christ, I can say from my many years as a Christian, I have never been bored!
Stephen Curtis Chapman, the songwriter / singer rightly calls the Christian Life, “The Great Adventure” and though in this life it, like other adventures, is filled with trials, those trials even are filled with golden joys!
Golden joys an ungodly world does not see or understand- 6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, 7 that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, 8 whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, 9 receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls. 1 Peter 1:6–9 (NKJV)
